It’s going to be an interesting day today. There’s no gaming, and we thought we’d have a weekend where it was just the two of us around the house. Then, our son decided to surprise us and come home from college last night…right before his sister went back to her school.
We’re still working on that weekend without kids. LOL.
Anyhow, I do plan to get some writing in. I recently got rid of the majority of our Halloween decorations. They were geared to younger kids. As our youngest is now 18, it was time to upgrade to a less kitschy decor.
One of the things I went for is some throw pillows. This one in particular I fell in love with.
As a writer, it’s my job to create magic. To give you, the reader, an escape. Given all that’s happened in 2020, we need those escapes more than ever. The foundation of our lives has been shaken this year. It’s been one hit after another, and I honestly believe we won’t be relaxing any time soon. Not until a vaccine is widely available, and the political/social justice climate becomes one of unity instead of division.
We should not fear each other. Yet we do.
It’s on each of us to decide that ignorance and distrust need to be put aside. Our words have consequences, as do our actions. They may not hurt us, but they can – and often do – hurt others.
It’s our decision to walk a path. I choose acceptance, unity, and love. Which fork will you take?
